Popis (anglicky):

I Swear is a 2025 British biographical comedy drama about John Davidson, a Scottish man living with severe Tourette syndrome. The film follows John from his turbulent teenage years in 1980s Britain, when his little understood condition makes him a target of bullying and misunderstanding, through to adulthood as he becomes a passionate advocate for awareness and acceptance of Tourette syndrome. Drawing on the real Davidson’s life and the earlier documentary John’s Not Mad, it balances darkly comic moments with emotional drama and focuses on dignity, identity, and resilience in the face of stigma. As John learns to harness support from family, friends, and medical professionals, he gradually finds purpose in campaigning for others with the condition, culminating in public recognition of his efforts. Directed by Kirk Jones, the film stars Robert Aramayo as John Davidson, with Maxine Peake and Peter Mullan in key supporting roles.
