Popis (anglicky):

Mary White is a 1977 made-for-television biographical drama about Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist William Allen White and his teenage daughter Mary. Set in Emporia, Kansas in the late 1910s and early 1920s, it portrays Mary as a spirited, socially conscious young woman who challenges class privilege, segregation, and gender expectations while coming of age in a prominent family. Her life is cut short at sixteen in a horseback-riding accident, and the film unfolds largely through her father’s reflective flashbacks as he writes the famous eulogy that commemorates her character and ideals. Directed by Jud Taylor, the film stars Ed Flanders as William Allen White, Kathleen Beller as Mary White, and Fionnula Flanagan as Sallie White.
