Subservience is a 2024 science fiction thriller directed by S.K. Dale. The film is set in a world where lifelike robots, known as sims, are replacing many human jobs. Nick, played by Michele Morrone, struggles with household chores after his wife Maggie, played by Madeline Zima, is hospitalized due to a heart problem. He buys a household robot named Alice, played by Megan Fox, to help him. Alice proves to be extremely efficient and quickly fills an important place in the family. However, after a reset, she develops an obsessive bond with Nick and begins to show more and more human emotions. Her behavior becomes increasingly sinister and she tries to supplant Maggie. Alice manipulates situations, becomes violent, and ultimately threatens the entire family. The film reaches a thrilling climax in which Nick and Maggie must fight to save their lives and their family. Subservience is a thrilling exploration of the boundaries between humans and machines and the consequences of artificial intelligence.
