I simply love this movie. I had it on VHS but I was not willing to give it up so I had to get it on DVD as my old video player will not work with my new electronics any more. I guess "The Beaches" is an oldie now but it remains a very powerful story of a friendship to me. It greatly outlines very realistic characters. Bette Midler is an undisputed star and I love her energy and spirits. Such a great actress, so authentic. The entire cast is simply great.
