His disappearance prompts his 21-year-old son Tim to search for the reason behind his disappearance. In his search, Tim gets help from his father's former partner: Detective Pikachu, an adorable, hilarious but confused detective. When they discover that they are the only human-Pokémon duo who can understand each other, Tim and Pikachu decide to work together to unravel the mystery. Hunting for clues, the two travel through the streets of Ryme City, a carefree, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon coexist in a hyper-realistic live-action world.
